Surgery Teddy Bear

Anatomical Teddy

Teach Your Child About Upcoming Surgeries or Procedures!

Our anatomical Teddy designed by Thomas Zupke in Berlin for a very special reason; when he was trying to explain an impending surgery to his young son, the child became frightened terribly frightened and confused.  Even though he tried explaining the anatomy of the human body a number of different ways, it triggered a total lack of understanding.
So Zupke rushed off to this local department store and purchased a brand new teddy bear, which he quickly took to his workshop. After removing the inside stuffing, he spent days recreating the internal organs and key parts of the skeletal system for his son to see.
To make a long story short, the local doctor was so impressed with Zupke’s creation that he offered to purchase it on the spot, and this proud father has been creating these special teddy bears for decades now.
This teddy is made of 10 % cotton and 90 % acrylic, and the body is filled with removable polyester organs/bones to make it easy to explain anatomy to a worried child.
